Old American OBSESSION

So you've been feeling exceptionally American recently. After the recent elections, all you hear about are the people that like or dislike the president, how someone cares about who they want being the leader of America and how you EXPRESS yourself in public and no one is allowed to say anything to you about it.

And you shout I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!

Well, when you are feeling like that, the best place to visit is Johnny Rockets.

They have a magnificent cheeseburger that looks wondrously unhealthy like us generic Americans enjoy.

So this is one of the cheeseburgers I was talking about. Look at it. I got the image in high-definition just so you can see the grease on it. I can't help but to eat this cheese burgers

Also, there is an amazingly friendly staff and some interesting things in this place that many other places.

1. They have these tiny little juke boxes at your table and you can put in a nickel and pick the songs to be played during your meal.
2. The style of the restaurant is like an old candy shop with the lovely checkered floor and the bar in the front along with the old-styled soda bottles that are really exciting.
3. The wait staff were on roller skates and they danced every time a premeditated song came on.

I really had fun at this place. Though at the table I was sitting at, the juke box wasn't working no matter how many nickels I put in.
Something I didn't like would have to be that it took so long for the food to come out. It didn't seem like there were a large amount of people there but they make up for it in a family friendly atmosphere.

If you are trying to get fast food, then this isn't the restaurant for you but the food was worth the wait.

One restaurant at a time! BD's Monglian Grill

GO to BD's Mongolian Grill

Are you sick and tired of people serving you your own food?

Do you want to just "tip" the waiter/waitress and get the food yourself?

Are you just fed up with have to choose only one meat what you just want all of them?

or just be able to get rid of a whole food group in your meal?

My personal favorite of the new, inventive way of buffeting is BD's Mongolian Grill.

Out of many types of restaurants I've been to, I definitely love the way that some restaurants have a buffet that you can choose from. (Personally, I love buffets with high quality food). There are other ways to have a buffet style restaurant.

So I'll start with a time when I actually went there.

You walk in and right away you are serviced, "you'd like a seat for five?" You are sent to your table and given an entree menu with all of these amazing looking entrees and after arguing with the rest of your table for a while, you decide on these delicious looking pot stickers because there is one for each of you except for the last person who didn't seem to like any of the entrees.

Not too long after, the waitress drops off 5 bowls at your table and of course asks if you've been here before to which you answer yes. (I've been there several times.)

Now that was the boring part. Eventuall you go up to the buffet-like area and go to get your food. Now the is layed out in lines with different types of food in different areas of the buffet section. There is meat and seafood then vegetables and eggs and the last station is for the sauses you get to choose from.

This is a very nice and clean area and the food, while still raw at the time, looks appetizing. At the same time, some of the meats, such as the chicken look somewhat greasy but later on, that will change. You can go through each of the stalls and get your favorite types of food without anything you don't like instead of going to a normal restaurant and ordering something. You know, when you order a main dish that you really like but there seems to be something or other on the dish you dont like so you just push it to the side and that's wasting food pointlessly.

The tables look something like this. You can get as much food as you can fit in the bowl and trust me, that's what you wanna do.

The bowls are like an average bowl you would have at your house but to get the bang for your buck you wanna fill it as high as you possibly can. It's a good ten dollars a person at lunch time not including any of the extra things such as dirty or white rice, tortilla shells, or any entree that you order.

So you fill the bowl as high as you possibly can, I personally put the heavy meats on top like the steak or the chicken to weigh do the rest of the meal so it all fits because you have to carry that bowl around trying not to spill anything out of it. If you get the actual food amount that you think youll eat, then when it is on the grill, it shrinks and you aren't left with enough food.

This is what one of my guests packed.

Just remember that all this is raw. It isn't cooked yet. She got some sea food but she also got something interesting. Apparently, the inside of a bamboo stalk is edible and they were serving it so she decided to try this new food (which was really strange to try, extremely unexpected soft texture and flavor).

So you fill your bowl and then you go to the last buffet table and pick out your sauses and spices. There are definately a lot of them and it really interesting to try a new one. I've heard several compliments for the tariyaki and the peanut butter sauces. My favorite combination of sauces and spices is tariyaki, seasoned salt and garlic.

After that, you go up to the grill and hand them your food. Now, this is a negative and positive thing.

1. You are getting your food cooked and the grill masters flip their instruments and do tricks with the grill.

This is really cook to watch. They also have a gong that you can hit if you give them tips. (If you want to see a video, I placed one at the  bottom.)

but at the same time,

2. your food is right next to someone elses so you may get some of someone elses food such as a pepper or something smal. Along with that, the instruments that they are using, touch all the food so you may get hints of different sauces in your own food but they keep the work space very clean and tidy as to not spread germs.

If you are allergic to anything such as seafood or peanuts or something of that nature, please do not risk your health and go to the hypo allergenic grill that is off to the side. They keep it completely clean and dont allow your food to touch someone elses.

Once you sit down, after waiting not even 10 minute for your food to cook, you sit down and enjoy the delicious food. I'll show you what I got.

There is before and after. It was an amazing meal So if you go, you really will enjoy this family friendly restaurant.

If you really want a do it yourself meal, do it yourself at BD's Mongolian Grill.
